Prior to starting nursing school, I had an opportunity to shadow my aunt on a labor and delivery unit. From the moment I witnessed my first birth, I knew caring for people during labor and delivery is what I was destined to do. During my undergraduate time at Bryan College of Health Sciences, this mission was instilled deeper. As I completed my final clinical rotation in labor and delivery, it was apparent that I was to be a labor and delivery nurse. From there, my nursing career took me to a hospital labor and delivery floor for five years; it was very fulfilling work and prepared me well for my next step at an OB/GYN clinic. Each new step allowed me to gain the knowledge and experience needed to care for clients. In the clinic setting, I discovered a new passion in nursing, but I missed caring for patients during labor and delivery. To combine these two passions, I started my journey to becoming a nurse midwife.
I attended Frontier Nursing University based in Kentucky and graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Certified Nurse Midwife (APRN-CNM). I am board certified through the American Midwifery Certification Board and hold a Nebraska license as an APRN- CNM. Starting in 2023, it is exciting for me to continue my career at Lincoln OBGYN P. C. in the new role of nurse midwife.
Evidence-based care and shared decision-making are at the core of my care for all clients at each stage
of their lives. I provide prenatal and postpartum care, contraceptive counseling, preconception
counseling and gynecological care including routine annuals, visits to address issues, STD screening,
breast health, and other care, as needed, throughout life.
I am married and have three children who keep me on my toes and provide much joy.
